Child Evaluation & Treatment Center (CETC) counselors have specialized training and experience working with children of all ages, from the three-year old with out-of-control temper tantrums to the teenager struggling with depression and low self-esteem. Our services include sessions for individuals, for parents, or for both together. Parents often seek our help when they have a child suffering with:
Depression and suicidal feelings
Self-esteem and self-image problems
Anxiety disorders: excessive worry or guilt, separation anxiety, social anxiety, panic attacks, and obsessive-compulsive disorder
“Bad attitudes” as manifest in oppositionality, non-compliance, or defiance
Trauma stemming from sexual, physical, or emotional abuse
Adjustment to the divorce or re-marriage of parents
Grief related to a significant loss (e.g., death of a loved one, recent move)
Drug, alcohol, or pornography addictions
Acting out or self-mutilation
Moodiness or frequent irritable mood
Out-of-control anger and aggression
Manipulative and irresponsible behavior
