As a counseling provider, our services offer professional support and guidance to individuals struggling with emotional or mental health issues. Our licensed counselors facilitate one-on-one sessions where clients can feel safe to explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in a confidential environment. By working collaboratively with our clients, we develop effective coping strategies and solutions to their problems, enabling personal growth and self-discovery. Ryan Gunnell, LMFTRyan Gunnell, LMFT
Ryan Gunnell received a Bachelor’s of Art Psychology degree from Utah State University in 2006 with a minor in Spanish. He then graduated with a Master’s of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy degree from Valdosta State University (southern Georgia) in 2008. Mr. Gunnell joined PATS in September 2011 as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. He is the Clinical Director of our Eagle Mountain office and sees patients at that location exclusively. Mr. Gunnell has extensive history of working with under-privileged, lower-income families; providing services to youth who are in trouble with the law or struggling in school, and having family problems at home. Mr. Gunnell has also taught courses on Family Violence to both victims and perpetrators. Mr. Gunnell specializes in the treatment of adolescents and families dealing with stresses of anger, oppositional behavior, defiant behavior, aggression, and ADHD. While focusing on the contributing factors of both the child and the parents, Mr. Gunnell employs the training of MRI, Narrative, Cognitive-Behavioral, and Solution-Focused therapy. Mr. Gunnell is fluent in Spanish – se habla español – así que se siente cómodo conversando con la gente latina. A native of Logan, Utah, Mr. Gunnell is married and has two little boys. He enjoys mountain and road biking and anything to do with the outdoors.
Jennifer Anderson, BS
Jennifer Anderson, CSW
Jen is a Certified Social Worker and Clinical Resident Therapist at PATS. She holds a Master of Social Work degree from Utah Valley University, complementing her earlier education with a Bachelor of Science in Health Promotion and Education.

Specializing in work with children and adolescents, Jen fosters a warm and supportive environment where young clients can explore their thoughts and feelings without judgment. She also has experience working with adults of all ages, focusing on resilience and self-discovery to help them regain control and find peace in their lives.

Employing an integrative approach, Jen draws from various therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which aids in transforming negative thinking patterns and building self-confidence; Strengths-Based Therapy, which empowers clients to recognize and harness their true potential; Solution-Focused Therapy; techniques from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT); and mindfulness practices. Whether addressing anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or past trauma, she is committed to listening and assisting clients in developing strategies for healing and growth.

Jen prioritizes a client-centered approach, valuing each individual's perspective and experiences. She believes that effective communication is fundamental to healthy relationships, and her goal is to foster resilience and self-discovery, enabling clients to regain control and find peace in their lives.

Her passion for individual therapy and mental wellness is rooted in personal life experiences and a genuine desire to help others. In her free time, Jen enjoys spending quality time with her family, running, baking, and appreciating the small moments in life. She is also fluent in Spanish (habla Español).
Monica Kimball, BSW
Monica Kimball, CSW
Monica Kimball is a dedicated therapist with a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) from Brigham Young University and a Master of Social Work (MSW) from Utah Valley University. Her passion for helping individuals and families find joy and fulfillment in their lives is a driving force in her approach to therapy. She strives to meet clients where they're at, offering compassion and insight throughout their journey.

Though she has experience working with clients of all ages, Monica particularly thrives in her work with children, teens, and young adults. Her life experiences have sparked her passion for helping clients and their families struggling with anxiety, depression, self-harm
and suicidal ideation learn to manage expectations, cope with stressors in healthy ways, and to succeed in maintaining positive relationships. Monica also has experience helping clients and their families with ADHD, ASD, PTSD, ODD, BD, BPD, Couples Therapy, and SUDs.

Monica utilizes a variety of clinical modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (MBCT), Strength-Based Therapy, and Exposure Therapy. She also enjoys including Art Therapy for clients interested in tapping into their creative side. This diverse toolkit allows her to tailor her aproach to meet the unique needs of each client, fostering personal growth and resilience.

Monica is a native Texan who loves all seasons and outdoor adventures Utah has to offer. She enjoys spending time with her husband and four children, hiking, cycling, traveling, and true crime. She believes that a balanced and fulfilling life contributes to overall well-being, and she incorporates this philosophy into her practice. Helping clients experience joy and empowering them to navigate their challenges, achieve personal goals, and reach their potential are among her greatest desires in life.
Lauren Cheney, CSW
Lauren Cheney, CSW
Lauren is a Certified Social Worker. She completed a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from Brigham Young University in 2019. She then completed a Master of Social Work degree at Utah Valley University in May, 2023. Lauren has had a variety of experiences throughout her educational pursuits that have included working with adults at Wasatch Behavioral Health, volunteering with adults at the Utah State Hospital, and most recently finishing an internship as a school social work intern at Provost Elementary School. She has experience using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with clients and enjoys using this modality, as well as incorporating mindfulness. She appreciates the person-in-environment framework that social work provides and utilizes this framework with her clients. Outside of school and work, Lauren enjoys spending time with friends and family, being outdoors, traveling, dancing, and swimming.

Lisa McFadden
Lisa works full time as the PATS Office Manager. She keeps the office running smoothly with her broad knowledge and abilities across the board. She is always willing to help and answer any questions you may have as you interact with our office. Lisa enjoys spending time with her family and her ten grandchildren.
